At AWOMB nishikiyamachi, you can freely combine about 50 kinds of seasonal ingredients such as obanzai using seasonal vegetables, fruits, herbs, condiments, etc., and make original hand-rolled sushi with only vegetables.
We offer vegan dishes such as “Teori-sushi YOH”, elaborate sweets and drinks in a tasteful space that fuses classic and modern in a renovated Kyomachiya.
Please come and experience the space of AWOMB nishikiyamachi, which is like a hidden hideaway in the alley “Nishikiyamachi Street”, which is close to the Kamogawa River and a little away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Teori-sushi YOH

“Ori”, this word can be directly translated to weaving. However, in Japanese weaving can also mean to combine different things in order to create one thing.
Teori sushi takes inspiration from the word ‘Ori’ so you can create your very own sushi by combining our colorful, locally sourced ingredients.
We would like you to enjoy the taste of Kyoto where local crafts people have been weaving vibrant silks to create kimono since the Edo period.
Nourish your body with the nutrients you get from your diet so that it can be the way it should be. With that in mind, we created Teori-sushi YOH, a hand-rolled sushi made only with vegetables.
You can make your own original hand-rolled sushi by freely combining obanzai and fried food using seasonal vegetables that are rich in nutrition and medicinal ingredients that have been adjusted to fit your body.
Being able to incorporate delicious vegetables into your body is better than any good medicine.

Discerning material

Vinegared rice

This vinegared rice is made by blending Tanba Koshihikari rice with quinoa, and using "Chidori Vinegar" from Kyoto Murayama Vinegar and seasonal fruit juice. We combine them just before serving them and prepare them in a slightly warm condition.


Roasted seaweed from the Ariake Sea allows you to feel the rich scent of the sea even when wrapped around sushi rice and other ingredients. Roasted seaweed that is perfect for Teori-sushi, with a good crispness and melting in the mouth.

Dashi stock

Richly flavored kelp from Rishiri is used generously. The clear and rich soup brings out the flavor of each ingredient.


Kyoto Ishino Miso's white miso, which features a delicate and gentle sweetness, is great not only for cooking but also for sweets. At AWOMB nishikiyamachi, we use a lot of it in seasonings and obanzai that are indispensable for the main vegetables.
